ID Card Center FAQs

What is the Baruch CUNYCard ID?

Your CUNYCard ID is your first step toward a safe campus. Display it upon entering any Baruch College building. Showing the card is mandatory; not an inconvenience. Invalid ID cards will be confiscated by a security officer or the ID Center.

Visitors

Baruch College welcomes anyone with official business during business hours. Visitors sign in, but they must have an appointment or be accompanied by a faculty member. If you would like to have a campus tour, you should contact Undergraduate Admissions to make appropriate arrangements.

All visitors entering a Baruch College campus building must sign in to the visitor’s log located in each building’s lobby. The Public Safety Officers will sign in visitors after the visitor displays a valid ID such as a driver’s license. If the visitor does not display a valid ID, they will not be admitted to the building. In this case, the visitor will be referred to the Public Safety Office.

Students

All students who take classes at Baruch College must have a CUNYCard ID. New students must go to the CUNYCard center to have their CUNYCard ID photo taken. Continuing students who must obtain a replacement ID should go to the CUNYCard ID center. The first CUNYCard ID you receive is complimentary. After that, there will be a charge of $10.00 (cash only) to replace your ID card.

All students must have registered and paid their tuition before they can get a CUNYCard ID.

If a student is not registered in classes for the current semester, his or her CUNYCard ID becomes invalid at the beginning of the semester. Your invalid ID card will be confiscated if seen on campus.

You are welcome, however, to visit any office during office business hours as a visitor.

Alumni

All Baruch graduates are eligible to receive a Baruch College Alumni ID Card. Current graduates may turn in their student ID card to obtain an alumni ID (please see below). Graduates of prior years may obtain or re-activate an alumni ID card by making a gift of any amount to the Baruch College Fund. You may make your gift in person at the Office of Alumni Relations at 17 Lexington Ave. (23rd Street) Room 1504, by phone at 646-660-6097, or online 24 hours a day at https://alumni.baruch.cuny.edu. Direct questions to alumni@baruch.cuny.edu. Contributions are fully tax-deductible. Your receipt is all you need to bring to the ID Center to have your photo taken and get or update your alumni ID card. If you need to replace your alumni ID card, there will be a charge of $10.00 (cash only).

Please remember that all alumni ID cards expire on June 30 each year.  Remember to renew it on time.

You must bring your Bursar’s receipt accompanied with at least one piece of photo identification. The first CUNYCard ID you receive is complimentary. After that, there will be a charge of $10.00 (cash only) to replace your ID card. Any Continuing Studies students registered for less than three days, your receipt allows you entry into Baruch College buildings.

All Continuing Studies students’ ID cards are only valid until the end of their program. If you are registered for new classes, you must bring your CUNYCard ID and paid invoice to the ID Center to get updated.

Employees

All new employees must go to the Office of Human Resources to obtain the “ID Card Authorization Form.” If you require special access added to your ID card, please advise the card administrator when you obtain your card. A special form may be required for this.

An employee who resigned or been terminated must return their ID card to their department or the Office of Human Resources. These cards are to be returned to the CUNYCard ID Center or the Office of Public Safety.

If you are a returning employee with an invalid ID card, please:

  • Have your Dean/Chair/Director/Manager send an email or a memo to the ID Center, we will reactive your ID card, or
  • Bring an ID card authorization from the Office of Human Resources to the ID Center

Upon retirement, an employee is eligible to receive a retired ID card. The authorization for this card can be obtained at the Office of Human Resources.
