    Receiving

    Receiving is responsible for the secure receipt, inspection, and routing of materials ordered by the College and members of the community. The department is the initial receiver and sorter for most non-USPS parcels received at the College.  We retain College property and items deemed to be of sensitive value and forward the balance to the Mailroom for distribution.

    Faculty and staff are prohibited from using the College’s facilities and address for the mailing and receipt of personal mail and packages.

      • Items are inspected for damage
      • Matched with packing slip and purchase order
      • Receipted in CUNYfirst
    5. The requester is then emailed with the details of the shipment (a copy of the purchase order, packing slip(s)/bill of lading, and CUNYfirst receipt are attached)
      • Purchase Order Number
      • Date Received
      • Tracking Number(s)
      • CUNYfirst Receipt Number
      • Will deliver to {Department Name and Mailbox/Inspector}
    6. Delivery Date
      Goods requiring additional inspection, such as computer equipment and furniture, will be forwarded to the Baruch Computing and Technology Center (BCTC) or Campus Facilities respectively

    Non-Baruch purchase orders, such as those made through the CUNY Research Foundation, DASNY, or other agencies, are handled in an analogous manner.
